Recent Technology (and the Students Who Love It)

A lot of adults say recent technology, such as video games, the Internet, and cell phones, are bad for students. This is simply not true, however. Technology is a very good resource for students.

Video games are known for violence, engendering buffoonery, and being completely futile. This, I argue, is wrong. Though there may be an occasional violent game, they are always marked as such. Any parent that decides their six year old daughter should get a game marked "Adults Only" on the front of the case either needs glasses or parental accompaniment. Video games also improve creativity and hand-eye coordination, both of which help immensely in a great variety of fields.

The Internet is known for it's life-sucking MMORPGs, talisman worshiping, baloney toasting, and generally any other absurd thing you can think of. Again, that is not correct. The Internet has gotten a bad rap from people that do not understand how it works. It also allows people to collaborate on school and business projects in real time and to preform important research. Clearly, the only downside to the Internet is the fact it costs money, though there are many people attempting to change that.

Elders say cell phones are bad because teens talk on them too much. That is a dual edged sword, as there are just as many adults who over use cell phones as teenagers. I admit, the only real reason for a teen to have a phone is to call family or 911, but then why not make it so those are the only numbers they are allowed to call? There are phones that let you do that. That allows you to avoid getting huge phone bills yet still makes sure that if your child needs to reach you, they can.

Before ending this essay, I would just like to summarize that video games, the Internet, and cell phones are actually good for teenagers. They promote safety and learning. I hope this has cleared up some common misconceptions.

Free Wii offer (It's a fake)

Have you ever heard of the below site?

http://freewiis.net/

It's a fake. I got 20 referrals. NO WII. I even asked Nintendo, and the guy that responded said it was legit. I'm not saying it's a Nintendo conspiracy, all I'm saying is Nintendo needs FACT CHECKERS: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO! Do they need payment? Well, then, use this rake (it's a fake link).
